Summit Distribution Center
Memphis, Tennessee
In the competitive Memphis market, distribution centers must be expertly designed to attract and retain clients with focused administrative and distribution needs. Wakefield Beasley provided design solutions for the new Summit Distribution Center, which utilized a cross-dock distribution complex with three distinct buildings. Construction was staggered in such a way that the firm was able to evolve design criteria throughout the project. By creating highly-efficient shell buildings out of conventional steel and load-bearing site-cast concrete panel walls, Wakefield Beasley was able to deliver the overall design on-time and within budget. The result is a fully-functional distribution complex with 700,000-sf, 790,000-sf and 460,000-sf building that were leased immediately by Hewlett-Packard to support its southeastern operations.
