North Augusta, South Carolina
One of the largest private sector employers in the city of Augusta tasked Wakefield Beasley with the monumental project of consolidating three facilities into one office complex near the North Augusta Municipal Center. With a tight budget, and even tighter schedule, the design team utilized strategic building materials to create a sophisticated look, matching adjacent buildings at an economical price. WBA tapped their vast experience in tilt-up and precast construction to design a building skin which allowed for a shorter construction duration, and allowed for the design team to share key ideas and techniques with both the client and contractor. Recommendations from the WBA team included insulation built into each panel before they were erected, as well as painting the interior surface of the panels so the TI process would be a shorter duration. The result is a two-story, 60,000 SF building with large open floor plan for the growing company.
