Stephen Dean
Director of Dallas Studio
Stephen knew he wanted to be a designer from a young age. As a child, he loved to explore construction sites and assist in his grandfather’s home improvement and woodworking projects. By the time he was a teenager, Stephen’s natural curiosity sparked an easy affirmation from a guidance counselor: he was meant to be an architect.
Proficient in the sometimes opposing fields of art and math, Stephen’s inherent talents make him a great architect. He loves that his work creates tangible results that change the built environment while driving his clients’ organizational success. He finds inspiration in the raw power of nature and shares his clients’ aspirations for a rewarding project journey and ultimately, a job well done.
In his 25-year career, Stephen has guided project teams for diverse and unique projects. For a renovation of the Fort Worth Sheraton, Stephen’s team bridged the gap between the design architect and the client’s in-house interior designers. He was also instrumental in the delivery of one of the first and one of the largest tiered-seating movie theaters in the New Orleans region for the Palace Movies 20 in Harahan, Louisiana and a 1.34 million square foot open air retail complex for Waterford Lakes Town Center in Waterford Lakes, Florida. Through the design of these projects – and numerous other religious, retail, hospitality and industrial facilities – Stephen has proven himself to be a skilled designer, motivating leader and trusted client advocate.
As the Director of Wakefield Beasley’s Dallas Studio, Stephen guides project teams to listen to clients, confirm their objectives and deliver as contracted. With this approach, he consistently delivers clear, vibrant projects that reflect team planning efforts and exceed client expectations.
