Wakefield Beasley understands that local banks have a unique place in the community. With this understanding and a strong relationship with Piedmont Bank’s president, the firm was able to meet both community and client goals for the Bank’s new facility. By blending the client’s desire for a traditional architectural design with Gwinnett County’s district requirements, the firm was able to select exterior colors and materials that please all parties and fit contextually within the community. While providing security and separation of the banking functions from the building’s leased spaces presented challenges, Wakefield Beasley devised a lobby design that welcomes customers to the bank during business hours but does not discourage tenants from accessing the leased spaces during non-banking hours. The successful project is a functional bank and office facility that meets the budgetary and aesthetic goals of the client.
